POLLOCK A 5th wheel trailer suffered significant fire damage following an incident last Thursday at Pollock.
No injuries were reported at a structure fire reported March 3, 12:22 p.m., at 577 Old Pollock Road. According to Fire Chief Allan Yearsley, Salmon River Rural Fire Department, the trailer suffered an estimated $10,000 damage. Cause is currently being investigated by the owner’s insurance carrier; however, the fire is suspected to have been caused by electrical problem.
The owner, Steven Speer, and an unidentified female companion, were in the residence at the time, and noticed the smoke. The female called 911 on the fire, and Speer turned off the trailer’s electric service and also shut off the propane.
“That had a lot to do with saving it [the trailer],” Yearsley said.
Three engines and eight volunteer firefighters responded. Crews cleared at 1:33 p.m.
