Two Grangeville residents injured in crash near Lewiston
LEWISTON — Joan M. and Bernie J. Golz of Grangeville were transported to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston last Wednesday, March 16, following a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 95, milepost 307, near the Clearwater River Casino, according to Idaho State Police. The second driver, Kristina T. Beckstead, 37, of Grangeville, was not injured.
Joan crossed the northbound lanes, failing to yield to Beckstead who was in the southbound lane, resulting in the crash.
Fire recovery workshop in Kamiah on March 30
KAMIAH — A fire recovery workshop for landowners will be offered on Wednesday, March 30, at the American Legion Hall at 618 Main Street in Kamiah. Topics addressed will include salvage, replanting and fire mitigation for timberlands, range and pasture recovery, and weed control measures for invasive grasses, noxious weeds and invasive roses. Fire prevention and mitigation measures for homes and structures will also be covered.
The workshop is presented by Idaho County Weed Management, Idaho Soil and Water Conservation District, Upper Clearwater Weed Management Area, University of Idaho and NRCS. The workshop is funded in part by the Idaho Department of Lands in cooperation with the USDA Forest Service.
Sign-in for the workshop begins at 8:30 a.m. with presentations from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There is no cost. Lunch is provided by American Legion Post 75.
