— My Sweet ’16 quote of the week is “A wise woman I know said that Monday sets the tone for the week. How true! Start this week looking through the lens of love, weave in laughter and joy. Mark things off your to-do list and take time to play.” Hmm, I really like this quote.

The annual Salmon River Community Easter Egg Hunt is this Saturday, March 26, beginning at noon at Riggins Elementary School. News flash: As of Feb. 25, it is now legal to have Boise as your local satellite TV station… meaning Boise stations in Riggins. The new FCC regulation passed Sept. 2, 2015. Comment period ended Feb. 25. For information about how to get this hooked up, call Vicky Lowe at 628-3320.

The Salmon River Community Church youth group is having a spaghetti feed Saturday, April 9, at the church; there will be a money donation at the door. The public is invited and encouraged to join in on the fun.

Ravenscraft has Internet show

Janet Ravenscraft, former Riggins resident now living in Boise, has a TV show on Boise TV 22.3. It’s not on cable and the signal only goes from Ontario to Mountain Home… and you have to have an antenna. Riggins will be able to get her show when they start live streaming in April… then anyone with Internet should be able to watch her program, “The Idaho Author Showcase.” It’s a 30-minute weekly show where Janet interviews Idaho published authors. The first show was broadcast March 5. Regular shows are on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. The Boise TV Facebook linkshare is Janet, herself, is a published Idaho author and plans to have a book signing in Riggins soon. If any published authors want info, they may e-mail Janet at

Jet Boat Race Weekend 2016 will take place on the Salmon River Friday, April 15, through Sunday, April 17.

Anyone wanting their business or individual name on the back of the Jet Boat 2016 race apparel, is asked to contact Marlene Mignerey by Friday, April 1.
