Cottonwood News: Mother-daughter breakfast set for April

— I hope everyone had a happy Easter. We did in spite of the snow, rain, cold and even had some sunshine. The kids, and even some big kids played baseball, football and had an egg hunt.

The weather was good on Saturday for the Easter egg hunt in Greencreek. The winners were as follows: Age 0-3, Brooklynn Spencer; 4-5, Will Sonnen; 6-7, Lillian Rehder; 8-12, Luke Stubbers.

Mother/Daughter Breakfast is Sunday, April 10, 9:30 a.m. at Assumption Parish Hall. All are welcome — they put on a great meal!

Congratulations, Catholic Youth of the Tri-Parish! Our youth group was awarded the “2015 Outstanding Adopt-A-Highway Award” for Group of the Year! Good job keeping our highway clean!

The Franciscan Friars of the Renewal are coming to the University of Idaho on April 8 and 9 to offer a retreat: “Year of Mercy.” The retreat will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday night and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday. The Healing Praise Ministry would like to invite anyone battling cancer to our healing and praise meeting, this Thursday, March 31, at Joe and Charlene Rehder’s home. April 9 there will be a bunco party at Assumption Hall, 6 p.m. Anyone interested in playing is welcome.

April 10 is the monthly Knights of Columbus breakfast at the KC Hall in Cottonwood. They will be serving from 7-10 a.m. Guaranteed yummy!

Tri-Parish Spring Retreat 2016: Saturday, April 16, at St. Mary’s Church, Cottonwood. Presenting priests are Fr. Bruce Wren LC and Fr. John Curran LC. for all interested adults and all young adults, high school through college. Morning will be the adult session, focusing on “Spiritual Growth” Foundations of our Faith and How to Grow in it. It will run from 8 a.m. to noon. Baby-sitting will be provided at the CEC building free of charge through 12:30 p.m. Lunch break is noon to 1 p.m. Adoration for any adult wishing to participate will be held 1-4:30 p.m. The afternoon session will be the young adult session “Christian Formation of the Teenager and Young Adult” and will run from 1–4:30 p.m. The retreat will conclude with Mass at Assumption at 5 p.m. Sign-up sheets are in the back of all our churches.
