May 10 preliminary hearing set for Bruce

— A May 10 preliminary hearing is set for a Washington State man charged with felony possession of marijuana.

Darrell Dwayne Bruce, 45, of Port Angeles, was charged April 16 following a Forest Service campsite check near milepost 93.5 on U.S. Highway 12, according to court records. During a consensual search at the site, USFS law enforcement officers found a Ziploc bag with 5.31 ounces of green leafy substance in Bruce’s vehicle, a bottle with 4.3 grams on his person, and another 26.3 grams and a large amount of smoking paraphernalia at the site. According to the report, Bruce stated the marijuana and paraphernalia were his.

USFS was assisted on site by the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office that charged Bruce with felony marijuana possession and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia.
