Why anyone would even consider voting for a change in our Idaho County Sheriff’s Department, I cannot guess. Sheriff Doug Giddings has built and managed just possibly the best organized and efficient sheriff’s department in the state; and probably in several states. The age-old adage is: “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” Let’s keep Sheriff Giddings in office.
William Spence (Lewiston Tribune writer) reports (April 30) that State Representative Shanon McMillan (District 7A) has not been able to get much done during her three terms in office. I would bet that the lady running for her seat in the Idaho Legislature (Priscilla Giddings of White Bird), a former Air Force pilot, would be more forceful and effective in dealing with the legislative body. I hope 7A folks will give her that opportunity.
Our State Representative in 7B, Paul Shepherd, is doing a great job. He got some highway work done in 7A recently that improved a situation for the traveling public and the Nez Perce Tribe. Thanks, Paul. I’m sure we will keep you in office too.
