KAMIAH The “Life After the Fires: Living for Today & Planning for Tomorrow” conference will be open to the public on Saturday, May 21, at The Life Center in Kamiah.
The conference is directed at landowners who were affected by the 2015 wildfires in north-central Idaho as well as others interested in wildfire in this region. Attendees will learn about conditions that led to the 2015 wildfire season and how a coalition of local, county, state, regional and national entities—the North-Central Idaho Wildfire Restoration Group—are working together to facilitate recovery and restoration in the aftermath of the fires.
Attendees for this free conference are asked to RSVP by Wednesday, May 18. Lunch and light refreshments will be provided. Presenting the conference is University of Idaho Extension with the North-Central Idaho Wildfire Restoration Group and the Nez Perce—Clearwater National Forests.
Event sign-in is at 7 a.m. with the conference to start at 8:30 a.m. and running to 3 p.m. with an optional field tour to follow.
