One hurt in two-vehicle crash May 10 north of Cottonwood on U.S. 95

— A citation for inattentive/careless driving is pending against a Grangeville man who was injured last week in a two-vehicle accident one mile north of Cottonwood on U.S. Highway 95.

Peter J. Lujan, 31, was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital (SMH) in Cottonwood for treatment.

The crash was reported Tuesday, May 10, 6:49 a.m., according to an Idaho County Sheriff’s Office (ICSO) report. Lujan was driving a 2000 Honda Accord southbound when he apparently fell asleep. His vehicle crossed the centerline and into the path of a northbound 2009 Subaru Forester driven by Kathleen F. Nemeth, 22, of White Bird.

Nemeth was not injured, and both drivers were wearing seat belts. ICSO Deputy Craig Hoodman investigated the crash.
