GRANGEVILLE Jennifer Griffis, parent advocate with the children’s mental health program of Idaho, will share at Encouragers Thursday, Nov. 3, at 11:30 a.m., at Oscar’s restaurant.
Griffis, former teacher and librarian, is married to Dr. Daniel Griffis, and is mother to seven children through birth and adoption. Behavioral, emotional, and learning needs among her children created parenting challenges and opportunities to engage with child-serving systems.
As a parent advocate in both regional and state-level positions within the mental health system, she has worked with policymakers, attorneys, advocates, and professionals to create a framework for a new system of care within the children’s mental health program of Idaho. Through her work with multiple organizations, she seeks to help parents raise resilient kids, no matter what diagnosis or challenge they face, always offering hope. Originally from Texas, the family moved to Grangeville more than six years ago. They enjoy rock climbing, whitewater rafting, backpacking, biking and skiing.
All are welcome each first Thursday of the month luncheon, which meets at 101 E. Main in Grangeville.
