ISP investigating US 12 crash that injured man

Idaho State Police is investigating last Friday evening’s injury crash along U.S. Highway 12 outside Kamiah.

As of press time, Theodore A. Mills, 54, of Kamiah, was listed in fair condition at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston. It is unknown whether he was wearing a seat belt.

The crash was reported at 5:26 p.m., Oct. 28, at milepost 54.5 (11 miles north of Kamiah), according to ISP. Mills was driving a 2004 Ford F-150 eastbound when he went onto the right shoulder. He cut across both lanes of travel and his Ford began to roll, coming to a stop in the westbound lane.

Mills was taken to Clearwater Valley Hospital in Orofino and then airlifted to Lewiston. U.S. 12 was blocked for 3.5 hours.

Assisting on the crash was the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office and Nez Perce Tribal Police Department.
