Crabtree, Giddings take majority vote in home counties

Republicans also won more votes in opponents home counties to take District 7 seats.



For the District 7 legislative races, unofficial results are Carl Crabtree (R) of Grangeville won the senate over Ken Meyers (D) of Sagle, 14,318 to 5,071; and Priscilla Giddings (R) of White Bird overcame Jessica Chilcott (D) of Sandpoint, 13,647 to 5,633, for Dist. 7A Representative.

Idaho, Clearwater, Shoshone and a portion of Bonner counties comprise District 7.

Dist. 7 Senate: How did they do by county?

Carl Crabtree

Crabtree pulled the majority of his total votes from his home county, Idaho, 47 percent (6,659); followed by 21 percent (3,036) from Shoshone; 19 percent (2,683) from Clearwater; and 13 percent (1,940) in Bonner County.

Meyers pulled his largest share of the vote from Shoshone, 37 percent (1,886); followed by Idaho, 28 percent (1,403); Clearwater, 18 percent (933); and from his home county, Bonner, 17 percent (849).

Priscilla Giddings

Chilcott took her most votes from Shoshone, 35 percent (1,997), followed by Idaho, 33 percent (1,831); Clearwater, 17 percent (977); and her home county, Bonner, 15 percent (828).

Giddings scored a sizeable 45 percent (6,171) from home, Idaho County; followed by 22 percent (2,935) from Shoshone; 19 percent (2,615) from Clearwater; and 14 percent (1,926) from Bonner County.
