We’ve been having such a lovely fall. All the sunshine and clear skies make for great hiking weather. Getting outside whenever we have the opportunity is a key to good health. Fresh air, sunshine and the sights and sounds of nature can help lower our stress levels.
Another component to good health is your attitude. Having an attitude of gratitude puts you in a place of receiving. It’s not possible to feel negative or depressed when you’re focusing on things you are grateful for.
Changing your attitude is just like changing your physique, it takes commitment. I see it as a muscle that requires use in order to grow and be strong. Positive thoughts, affirmations, prayer and meditation all have an enormous effect on our physical and mental health.
Being grateful for even the tiniest thing can shift your mood. Waking up and thinking of something you are grateful for will give you a good start to your day. Take time throughout the day to think of things that you are grateful for.
It’s also important that you include yourself in your grateful list. Take a look at yourself, acknowledge that you are a good person and acknowledge the good deeds you have done. Be grateful that you are unique, and that you make the world a better place, simply by being in it.
Today I am grateful for my family, friends and community. The best is yet to be.
