Knowing facts would interfere with attacks

Letter to the Editor

In Don Sokolowski’s latest letter attacking Idaho County Republican Sheriff Doug Giddings, he suggested that the county commissioners have some responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the sheriff’s office. Apparently, Mr. Sokolowski does not understand that all county elected officials have specific powers and duties designated in the Idaho Constitution and the statutes of the State of Idaho. The county commissioners are not the ‘bosses’ of any other elected official.

Before implying that the commission is shirking its responsibilities, I would ask Mr. Sokolowski to educate himself on how county government really works. But then knowing the facts may interfere with his personal attacks.
