Sweet Pressure

About 50 people participated in the third annual Tahoe QRU Apple Cider Pressing fund-raiser, held Saturday morning, Oct. 1, on Leitch Creek Road outside Kooskia. Participants combined a range of apples — including red and golden delicious to McIntosh and gala — and elbow grease to press out smooth, sweet cider. The event raised $156 for the volunteer emergency medical response organization. Pictured here (L-R) helping participants Louise Haukendahl and Tia Haukendahl is Tahoe QRU EMT Irene Finehout.
