The people we elect to state offices have much more impact on our daily lives than those we send to Washington, D.C. That’s why, for District 7A, we need to send Priscilla Giddings to the state legislature. Giddings understands that 75 percent of this district is lands owned and controlled by either the USFS or BLM. Both these agencies care more about what their bosses back east say than what we who live here want. With her home and roots here in Idaho County, she understands that Idaho needs these lands to produce more than just forest fires that destroy homes and the resources they contain.
Unlike her opponent, Giddings will work to ensure that these lands are used for the economic benefit of Idaho and Idaho County. Her opponent believes these lands will “… allow us to provide a legacy of sportsmanship and recreation that we want and need to pass on to our future generations.” She appears to have lost sight of the fact that these lands are economically critical to the state and its residents. She seems to care nothing about the importance of the economic importance these lands represent.
Giddings represents the values that make Idaho what it is: hard work, the ability to protect your family and what you have, and educating Idaho’s children about what has made America what it is … and why it still means something to be called ‘an American.’ She has also worked in the state legislature and understands how things work in Boise.
Priscilla Giddings served this country valiantly in the military. Let’s send her to Boise where she can continue to serve all of us with those principles that make us ‘Americans.’
Let’s tell her opponent that we want someone who represents Idaho, not New York City or Washington, D.C.
