Elk City woman killed in Tuesday evening crash

Three injured in Oct. 25 accident east of Kooskia

— One person has died and three were injured in a Tuesday evening three-vehicle crash east of Kooskia. Idaho State Police is investigating the Oct. 25 incident.

Deceased is Eleanor A. Chandler, 75, of Elk City.

David R. Mcintyre, 25 of Kooskia, was taken to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston; and Karl M. Nelson, 58, and Stephanie H. Nelson, 56, both of Kamiah, were transported to Syringa Hospital in Grangeville. All involved were wearing seat belts.

The incident was reported at 5:36 p.m. at milepost 71.2 on U.S. Highway 12, according to ISP.

Mcintyre was traveling east in a 1996 Ford Mustang when he crossed the center line, striking Chandler's 2001 Dodge Neon head on. Mcintyre's vehicle then spun around and struck Karl’s 2009 Ford Escape. Chandler and Nelson's vehicles then went off the embankment of the eastbound side of the road. Next of kin has been notified.

US 12 was blocked for approximately five hours. Assisting were Lewis and Idaho county sheriff’s offices, Kooskia Fire Department and ambulance.
