Pumpkin carving contest, White Bird Recreation open house, Halloween party all set for Oct. 29

— A pumpkin carving contest and decorating party are set for Saturday, Oct. 29, at the White Bird Recreation District. An open house for the district is also set for the same day.

Bring a pumpkin and join the fun of carving and decorating. Prizes will be awarded. Feel free to bring the pumpkin you grew, but tell organizers ahead of time so a picture can be taken. Prizes will be awarded for the home grown pumpkins as well. Contact Brenda at 839-2303 or Charlotte at 839-2653.

The White Bird Recreation open house is set for 1 to 5 p.m. Visit with Steve, Dean and Christie who have been working on this past year for the Recreation District’s grounds and building. Future plans are displayed on the walls as well as feedback from residents. Some of the future projects include the bathrooms, outside parking and grounds. Cake, coffee, water and punch will be served.

In addition, the annual Halloween Party will be held at the IOOF Hall from 6 to 8 p.m. Come dressed in costume to win prizes. Refreshments served.
