— Each year, the Idaho Association of County Assessors elects one person to serve as president of the Idaho Assessors. This year, Idaho County Assessor James Zehner was elected to serve for the 2017 year.

As president, Zehner will preside over the three meetings the assessors hold each year. He will be the main contact person between the assessors and the Idaho State Tax Commission and the Idaho Motor Vehicle Licensing Department as well as the main contact with Idaho legislators for impacts from new legislative changes in dealing with property and taxes. He will serve as president of the association from September 2016 through August of 2017.

Zehner has worked for the county for 29 years and has been the assessor of Idaho County since 2007. The previous Idaho County Assessor, Jim Beckman, was president of the association in 1981.
