PHS crushes Council; Savages smash Wilder

COUNCIL — The Pirates rushed for 278 of 386 total yards during their 42-0 demolition of Council Friday night, Sept. 16.

Spencer Schumacher hit six of 10 passes for 89 yards and two scores, and Lucas Wemhoff rushed for four scores on 10 carries for 160 yards.

Council rushed for 179 yards but never found the end zone against the PHS defense, which was led in tackling by Jayce Huling, Owen Anderson, Caleb McWilliams and Jacob Stubbers.

Up next, Prairie (2-1, 1-0 Whitepine League) will host Clearwater Valley at 7 p.m. this Friday night, Sept. 23.

SR 54, Wilder 14

WILDER — A long drive and a lopsided final score made for a late night for Savages fans who made the road trip last Friday night, Sept. 16.

The Salmon River boys rewarded their fans with a thorough drubbing of the Wildcats, 54-14.

Canyon Harper opened the scoring with a 12-yard run but Wilder took an 8-6 lead into halftime.

Wilder added the first score of the third quarter, after which the Savages erupted for 46 unanswered.

After Harper housed a 44-yard pass from Tucker Boyd, Boyd broke two long touchdown runs and threw another one to Harper. After Harper broke another long run, the Savages went to their reserves.

Up next, Salmon River (4-0) will host Lapwai for Savages homecoming on Friday night, Sept. 23, at 7 p.m. MT.
