Bingo this Friday at Kamiah American Legion Hall

KAMIAH — Bingo is this Friday, April 7, 7:30 p.m., at the American Legion Hall in Kamiah, 618 Main Street. A $100 blackout played for, a 50/50 drawing, and concessions open.

Grangeville egg hunt accepting donations

GRANGEVILLE — The Grangeville Easter egg hunt is set for Saturday, April 15, 9 a.m., at Lions Park for children ages 1-12. This is sponsored by Grangeville Eagles Auxiliary No. 539 and they are accepting donations of cash, candy, eggs and baskets. Call Yolanda Stout at 983-2131.

Spring Fling raffle event drawing April 16

GRANGEVILLE — Camas Prairie Preschool is holding its Spring Fling raffle event. Tickets are five for $10 or $2 each; and 50/50 tickets are five for $20 or $5 each. Winners will be drawn on April 26.

Auditions to be held for spring talent show

KOOSKIA — The Opera House cultural committee is searching for participants for the first Prairie River’s Got Talent event. All ages are welcome to show off their singing, dancing or comedy skills. Are you a magician or poet? Come share your talent.

Auditions will be held in Kooskia April 13 and 14 at the Clearwater Elementary gym from 4 to 7 p.m. They also will be held in the community room at the Grangeville Elementary/Middle School April 15 from 10 a.m. to noon.

Winners chosen will perform publicly at the Clearwater Valley High School Auditorium April 28. The audience will help decide the winner. Proceeds from this event will help fund the Old Opera House campaign.

Wemhoff named to UGF honor roll

GREAT FALLS, Mont. —Nicole Wemhoff of Grangeville was named to the 2016 fall semester president’s honor roll for the University of Great Falls, a private Catholic, liberal arts school. To make the roll, students need to earn a 4.0 GPA.

Summit play set for May

COTTONWOOD — Summit Academy’s spring play is set for May 4-6. Show times are 7 p.m. each night with a matinee on Saturday at 2 p.m.

The title of the play this year is “Expect the Unexpected: A Nun’s Tale.” Admission prices: Preschool—free ; kindergarten to 12th grade—$3; adults—$5; and a family pass—$20.

Legion Auxiliary will meet April 8

GRANGEVILLE — Grangeville American Legion Auxiliary Unit 37 will have the April meeting at the Idaho County Veterans and Community Center Saturday, April 8. The Canteen will be selling lunch starting at noon and the meeting will start at 1 p.m. Annual reports will be completed. All members are needed to help with the reports. Elk City Wagon Road meeting is April 8

CLEARWATER — The Elk City Wagon Road committee postponed meeting will be held Saturday, April 8, at the Clearwater Grange Hall at 11 a.m. The committee is looking at some new ideas for this summer as well as regular business. All interested are invited to attend. The meeting will be followed by a potluck lunch. These friends of the Elk City Wagon Road plan events and maintain the old road that celebrates the original road that was used by wagons to haul supplies to the gold mines around the Elk City area.

The museum of the Wagon Road displays the history of the road as well as the surrounding area. The museum will be open on April 8 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. It can also be seen at other times by calling Suzanne Smith at 926-4278.

CVES book fair set for this week

KOOSKIA — A book fair is set this week at Clearwater Valley Elementary School in Kooskia. Parents, friends and family can stop by the CVES library and shop anytime during school hours (8 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and tonight, Wednesday, April 5, the fair will be open until 6 p.m. The fair is sponsored in part by the CV PTSA.

American Legion to meet tonight

GRANGEVILLE — Grangeville American Legion Post 37 will have the April meeting at the Idaho National Guard Armory tonight, Wednesday, April 5, 7 p.m. This is a change from the previous meeting place at the vets center. Officers for the coming year will be elected and all new members initiated. Call Don Owen at 983-1191.

IOGA dinner set for April 10

OROFINO – The Clearwater Valley Chapter of IOGA (Idaho Outfitters & Guides Association) is hosting a 5 p.m. social and dinner on Monday, April 10, at the Orofino VFW for the Board of Directors, area outfitters, guides and guests. Area business owners who are interested in becoming an IOGA Associate Member are welcome to attend. RSVP by April 7 to 476-5971 or
