Health care matter of individual choice

Letter to the Editor

Thankfully, there were enough commonsense conservative Republicans that the “new health care bill” didn’t even come up for a vote.

What we all spend on doctors, medicines and health insurance policy choices should be a matter of individually responsible private budgeting, not governmental edicted political influence peddling and vote-buying taxpayer-funded “redistributions”!

For those who still believe that some form of socialism will somehow be a panacea for health care, I suggest the following:

Leave your home and walk down the street, knocking on all your neighbors’ doors, demanding that each of them must pay your medical bills! You can imagine the response you’d get, so you’d never even consider doing that. But then why are you so willing, and even eager, to have the government do it for you?
