WHITE BIRD Facing charges on one burglary, a White Bird man may be looking at new felonies in relation to a second incident.
Last Wednesday, March 29, Idaho County Sheriff’s Office investigators secured a search warrant for Michael McReynolds’ residence and shop at 3390 Old Highway 95. According to ICSO Detective Jerry Johnson, the search recovered items reported stolen in White Bird area residential burglaries reported Feb. 10 from Banner Ridge Road and March 2 from Old Highway 95.
McReynolds was initially charged with felony grand theft in the Feb. 10 incident, in which a generator and other items were reported stolen. The charge has since been amended to misdemeanor petit theft, and he is set for sentencing April 18.
According to Johnson, the March 2 incident was reported at the Robert Senter residence, in which the front door was kicked in and antiques and collectibles were taken; items include tribal artifacts and photos, coin and token collections, and silver.
“We only recovered a small fraction of that,” Johnson said, of Senter’s property during last week’s search.
ICSO reports have been filed with the Idaho County Prosecutor’s Office for review and possible charging.
