Keegan Kosanke

— Misdemeanor charges are pending against a Clearwater man following a Monday morning accident.

Keegan S. Kosanke, 36, is charged with second offense DUI and leaving the scene of an accident.

Charges resulted following investigation April 10 of a DUI crash reported at 6:26 a.m. at the junction of highways 12 and 13 at the weigh station, according to the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office (ICSO).

Deputy Sam AuGello responded to the location and discovered an unoccupied, heavily damaged, 1993 Chevrolet pickup in the landscaping. It appeared that the driver had been injured as there was a broken windshield and blood inside the vehicle.

While other deputies attempted to locate the driver, AuGello made contact with the registered owner and determined the driver would have been Kosanke. While AuGello was speaking with the owner, she received information of Kosanke’s location near the crash site.

AuGuello responded to the location near the crash site and arrested Kosanke on a Nez Perce County fail to appear on DUI warrant while investigating the crash. Kosanke did not require medical treatment. He was booked into the Idaho County Jail.
