Meeting is April 22 for National Day of Prayer

GRANGEVILLE – Interested pastors, individuals and community leaders are invited to the Soltman Center (across from Syringa Hospital on Main Street) this Saturday, April 22, noon, for a prayer and preparation meeting ahead of the National Day of Prayer May 4.

Tickets on sale for May 4 prayer event

GRANGEVILLE – A National Day of Prayer Luncheon is set for Thursday, May 4, noon to 1 p.m., at the Veteran Outreach and Community Center in Grangeville. The theme is “For Your Great Name’s Sake: Emmanuel: God is with us.”

Tickets are $10 each and the speaker will be Representative Priscilla Giddings. All city and county leaders are invited. Seating is limited, so reserve tickets early. Day of event tickets will be $12 apiece. For details call Parson Rayphe at 935-5623 or go to www.IdahoPrayer.Com.

Cowboy fellowship will be held April 22

GRANGEVILLE — Cross Country Cowboy Fellowship will be meeting Saturday, April 22, 6 p.m. in the fellowship barn at 43 Whitetail Drive just south of Grangeville (home of Gary and Judy Porter). There will be a chili tasting; bring a favorite chili or a side dish to share and bring a friend.

Save the date for ‘Notes and Floats’

GRANGEVILLE – A musical variety show “Notes and Floats” will be held at the Grangeville Church of the Nazarene Saturday, April 29, 7 p.m.

Children 4 and younger are free while the suggested donation for others is $10 apiece. All donations will benefit the Cornerstone Learning Center.

Bingo scheduled for Kamiah April 21

KAMIAH – American Legion Post No. 75 will host Bingo this Friday, April 21, at the American Legion Hall in Kamiah, 618 Main Street, starting at 7:30 p.m.

Opera House benefit concert set for April 28

KOOSKIA – Josh Crosby and Misty Dawn Taylor will be in concert Friday, April 28, at Clearwater Valley High School in Kooskia at 7 p.m.

This will also feature the talents of locals Phillip Golde, Liz Nuxoll and Jonny Schuster, as well as the “Stars of Tomorrow” preshow. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for those 12 and younger. Proceeds will go toward the purchase of the Old Opera House Theatre/Community Center.

E-Free church hosts women’s event April 22

GRANGEVILLE — Centennial E- Free church will be hosting another “Going Deeper” event for women this Saturday, April 22, from 9 to 11 a.m., at the church building, 408 N. College in Grangeville.

A continental breakfast will be served followed by praise and worship music, a presentation by several area women about encouragement, and wrapping up with a discussion around the topic. All ladies and teen girls are welcome to attend. There is no charge, but no child care is available. Call at 816-8355.

Kamiah kindergarten registration is May 3-5

KAMIAH – Kamiah schools kindergarten screening will be held May 3, 4 and 5. Bring immunization records and birth certificates. Call 935-4012 to schedule an appointment immediately.

Cinco de Mayo celebration to be held May 5 at Eagles

GRANGEVILLE – A Cinco de Mayo celebration is set for Friday, May 5, 5 to 8 p.m., at the Eagles Hall in Grangeville. The night will benefit the Chet and Ruth Prall Eagles No. 539 Scholarship Fund.

Community breakfast at St. Catherine’s April 26

KAMIAH — The free monthly community breakfast at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church will be held on April 26 from 8:30-10 a.m. Breakfasts are held every month on the last Wednesday of each month.

St. Catherine’s Catholic Church is located at 7th and Idaho streets in Kamiah. The breakfast this month will be pancakes, scrambled eggs, coffee, orange juice. All are invited.

Kindergarten screening set for Summit Academy

Kindergarten registration set for CVES

KOOSKIA — Registration for children entering kindergarten at Clearwater Valley Elementary School in Kooskia this fall will be Wednesday, April 26. Children must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2017. A 20-minute informal evaluation is part of the registration process. Call CVES at 926-4311 to reserve an appointment for your child.

Bring child, child’s certified birth certificate and record of immunizations to appointment.
