High schools shuffle schedules as favorable weather prevails

With spring sports schedules being rearranged around rain-outs, area high schools are trying to make the most of nice weather expected to prevail this afternoon, April 19.

National Weather Service forecasters were calling for a high in the 60s in the Clearwater River valley, with the region mostly sunny and warm and a small chance of rain. With wet weather anticipated Thursday, school officials arranged for Prairie to play at Clearwater Valley this evening, with the previously scheduled game against Nezperce to instead be played at 4 p.m. Friday, April 21, in Cottonwood.

The PHS softball squad will play at Asotin, with the JV to open against Asotin at 3:30 p.m. and the varsity to follow with a game against Genesee at roughly 5:30 p.m.

Prairie is set to attend a track and field meet postponed from yesterday, which is to be held today at Lapwai High School.

The Grangeville tennis squad rescheduled to include home dates April 24 against Clearwater Valley and May 1 against Culdesac/Orofino.
