Marlene George and the VFW Auxiliary want to encourage all to, “mark your calendars” to attend the Giant Taco Feed May 5 at the VFW from 5 to 7 p.m. This is an annual fund-raiser for the Elk City Volunteer Fire Department sponsored by VFW Wilderness Post No. 8311 Auxiliary.
Sue Philips sends this on behalf of the REACH Club: “Thanks everyone for their donation of aluminum cans, especially the V.F.W. and The Lumberjack Steakhouse (previously known as Elk City Saloon and Cafe). And thank you to Justin Anderson for delivering them to Lewiston on Monday, April 24 for us. This is a great fund raiser for REACH! Currently we don’t have a place to store cans but are actively seeking a spot...so hang on to, your cans and we will share the news as soon as we have a new storage spot! Please don’t take cans to the old school building or the open stall behind the ambulance garage.”
Mother’s Day is coming up and, oh yeah, Father’s Day too – just a reminder to plan ahead for these special people in your lives.
Meetings: Sew Help Me Quilters on the 25th.
Birthdays: Carol Moore
