Kamiah schools kindergarten screening set for May 3-5

— Screening for 2017-18 kindergarten students will be held May 3-5 at Kamiah Elementary School.

Those planning to attend kindergarten must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2017. Call the KES office at 935-4012 to make a screening appointment.

Bring immunization records, birth certificate and Social Security card. These will be copied and returned immediately.

Children entering kindergarten will receive a free book as part of the Kamiah elementary library’s “Get a Jump Start on Reading @ Your Library.” The book is “The Night Before Kindergarten” by Natasha Wing.

The program is sponsored by the KES library, Read to Me, a service of the Commission on Libraries, through a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services and the Governor’s Executive Office for Families and Children.
