GRANGEVILLE Work begins Thursday, Aug. 3, on Grangeville’s half-million-dollar city-wide chip seal project.
What you need to know this week, Aug. 1-5:
Sunday work involves business district
Crews will be working the business district area seal coat starting Sunday, Aug. 6. This will involve streets and cross streets from Idaho to Mill, and South to North streets
Activity will show when your street will be chipped
Wondering when crews will get to your street? Circumstances may change or delay the project, so specific place, day and time for work is not available. Residents will know their street work is soon to commence when they see crew activity in their location and barricades starting to be placed.
In preparation: Don’t blow grass into the road. Move now any vehicles parked in the road, especially if you are going on vacation; otherwise, the city may have the vehicle towed.
Gravel roads: keep to 15 mph
Starting Thursday morning, eight gravel streets will be receiving a special BST seal coat application and drivers are asked to not exceed 15 mph on these streets for the next two weeks to avoid damaging the surface, both before and after application.
Roads restricted to 15 mph: North Boulevard, North Florence, North Meadow, East North 7th, North Hall, Cunningham, Hill and Lincoln.
Some high-traffic areas will be marked with 15 mph barricades, and Grangeville Police will be enforcing speeds in these areas.
Work will start on these streets tentatively Friday to Saturday
North C to Main Street; North C to North D; North D to the County Road; North Hall from North D to Idaho Street; and Cunningham from North D to Idaho Street.
