15 mph speed restriction on gravel roads receiving chip seal

— Work begins Thursday, Aug. 3, on Grangeville’s half-million-dollar citywide chip seal project. Part of the work will be on eight gravel streets, and Grangeville Public Works asks motorists to keep speeds on these areas to 15 mph.

Starting Thursday morning, eight gravel streets will be receiving a special BST seal coat application and drivers are asked to not exceed 15 mph on these streets for the next two weeks to avoid damaging the surface, both before and after application.

Roads restricted to 15 mph: North Boulevard, North Florence, North Meadow, East North 7th, North Hall, Cunningham, Hill and Lincoln.

Some high-traffic areas will be marked with 15 mph barricades, and Grangeville Police will be enforcing speeds in these areas.
