‘Movie under the stars’ set for Aug. 11 in Kamiah

KAMIAH — The UYLC YAB and ImpactYM in Kamiah are sponsoring another movie under the stars event, but this time with a comedic twist. The theme of the evening is “Vote for Pedro!”

This is set for Friday, Aug. 11, and a dance contest will be the first event of the evening, followed by a showing of the film Napoleon Dynamite. There are prizes for participants. The event will take place at the Life Center, 4432 Highway 12. The dance contest begins at 8:30 p.m., movie at dusk. Concessions will be available.

GCF grant cycle set

GRANGEVILLE — For the fourth consecutive year, Grangeville Community Foundation announces the opening of its 2017 grant cycle. GCF will be accepting grant applications for projects that benefit Grangeville from Aug. 1 through Sept. 30.

Camas Prairie Food Bank to be closed Aug. 11

GRANGEVILLE – The Camas Prairie Food Bank will be closed Friday, Aug. 11, in order to accomplish some administrative duties. Regular days and hours will continue the following week. Call 208-507-0203.

Country dance set for Aug. 6 at Orofino

OROFINO – A country Western dance is set for this Sunday, Aug. 6, 1 p.m., at the Orofino VFW Hall. A potluck is set for 4 p.m. Cost is $5 per person. Music will be by Mike Jenkins and Friends.

American Legion picnic set for Sunday

GRANGEVILLE — Grangeville American Legion Post 37 and Auxiliary will host a summer picnic on Sunday, Aug. 6, from 1-3 p.m., at the Lions Park by the play equipment. All community veterans and their families are welcome. Fried chicken, table settings and beverages will be provided. Bring lawn chairs and a side dish or dessert to share. Membership for 2018 will be collected. Legion dues are $40 and Auxiliary dues are $30. For information contact Post Adjutant Don Owen at 208- 983-1191.

Bingo set for Kamiah

KAMIAH – American Legion Post No. 75 will host Bingo this Friday. Aug. 4, 7:30 p.m., at the American Legion Hall in Kamiah.
