Band ‘Double Portion’ to perform at Stites

STITES — Canada’s Double Portion returns for a repeat concert at the Gospel Lighthouse in Stites, Thursday, Aug. 10, 6 p.m.

Voted “Live Band of the Year” GMA Canada, the gospel group is one not to miss.

The Gospel Lighthouse is located at 406 Main Street in Stites.

Nazarene Church sets upcoming activities

GRANGEVILLE – The Grangeville Church of the Nazarene will host a variety of upcoming activities.

An end-of-summer teen barbecue is set for the church this Friday night, 7 p.m., on the lawn.

Baptism will be held Sunday, Aug. 27, 3 p.m., at Twin Bridges.

Regular weekly services are held Sunday at 9 a.m. (worship) followed by Sunday school for all ages; prayer meetings each Tuesday at 7 p.m.; and choir practice will begin again on Wednesdays in the fall. Men’s and Women’s Bible studies are also held.

Community prayer time set for Aug. 12

GRANGEVILLE — A prayer time is set for the Soltman Center (across Main Street from Syringa Hospital) in Grangeville at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 12. All are invited.

Encouragers will meet Aug. 3; Chicane to speak

GRANGEVILLE — Amber Chicane will share her testimony of deliverance from drugs with Encouragers Thursday, Aug. 3, at 11:30 a.m., at Oscar’s Restaurant.

“The Lord saved me from the pits of hell, and brought me to know Him, and to the good place I am today,’ Chicane said. He has also helped her as she faced physical challenges, she said.

Chicane is married to Pat Chicane and has three daughters and three grandchildren. She is active in the Grangeville Church of the Nazarene.

The regular first Thursday no-host luncheon group meets at 101 E. Main Street in Grangeville.
