— There will be Mass at Holy Cross, Keuterville, Aug 20. Father Bruce Wren LC will be home visiting and will celebrate Mass that evening in Father Paul’s absence. Mass at Holy Cross is scheduled through Sept 10.

RCIA (The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) is the process of learning about the Catholic faith which leads to Baptism at the Easter Vigil or Confirmation as a Catholic for baptized individuals with faith backgrounds other than Catholicism. We will be having an Open House to begin our journey on Thursday, Sept. 7, in the back of St. Mary’s Church. Invite people you know may be interested in our faith and come with them to the Open House. There is no commitment to become Catholic just because one begins the process. Invitations with specific information will be available at the entrances of each parish church. Questions and/or concerns? Call Charlene Rehder at 208-962-7324

The next Engaged Encounter Weekend will be held Sept. 15-17 at the Monastery of St. Gertrude. Registration is going on now! The next retreat after this one will not be held until January 2018. Brochures and registration information is available at your parish office, or on our website:

Young Adult Q&A on Tap with Bishop Peter: Our parish has a new ministry focused on young adults ranging from 18 to mid/late 30s. This event scheduled for young adults is a Q&A on Tap where young adults who are now dealing with the “nitty gritty” of life can come together in friendship to discuss the challenges of our busy lives. The ministry’s kickoff night will begin by 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 11, at Nick and Cherie McDonough’s guest house in Cottonwood. It will be a laidback barbecue with plenty of food and drinks provided. Bishop Peter Christensen is very excited about this new ministry and will be at the kickoff night to answer any questions we may have for him. Questions about this ministry or directions to the guest house - contact Josh Lustig at 208-816-8867. Bring your friends and we will see you there on Aug. 11.

Just a reminder: The play “Chieftain” is coming soon to school near you, Summit Academy. Show times are 6:30 p.m., Aug. 11,12,13, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and a Sunday matinee at 1 p.m. There is no admission charge, but donations will be accepted to cover production costs.
