Elk City Days celebration from 1909.
As of Tuesday, August 8, 2017
ELK CITY Some sad news to share with you all … A longtime Elk City resident, Randy Lobdell, died this past week. Sympathy and prayers go out to family and friends.
Just a few more days until Elk City Days…hope you are all geared up for the events! Thought I would share with you all a photo from the celebration (which used to take place on July 4th) that took place in 1909. Enjoy the photo. Too bad we can’t have horse races up Main Street!
Looks like the Lumberjack Saloon has some events planned for Elk City Days: Special dinners both Friday and Saturday, a black jack tournament (5-8 p.m. Friday and Saturday), live music on Friday (8 p.m. to 1 a.m.), a horseshoe tournament (2-5 p.m. on Saturday), and karaoke on Saturday (9 p.m. to midnight.).
Meetings: American Legion on the 9th; VFW Post and Auxiliary on the 10th; Elk City Area Alliance on the 14th; Food Bank on the 15th.
