Breakfast at St. Catherine’s is Aug. 30

KAMIAH — The free monthly community breakfast at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church will be held on Aug. 30, from 8:30-10 a.m. Breakfasts are held every month on the last Wednesday of each month.

St. Catherine’s Catholic Church is located at 7th and Idaho streets in Kamiah.

Clearwater Meal Center luncheon set for Sept. 6

CLEARWATER – The Clearwater Meal Center’s next luncheon is set for Wednesday, Sept. 6, noon. Meals are served the first and third Wednesdays of each month at the Clearwater Baptist Church.

There is no charge for the luncheon, $5 donation appreciated when possible. All are welcome, regardless of age.

This week’s meal will be meat loaf, scalloped potatoes, vegetable and dessert.

Camas Prairie Preschool orientation is Aug. 30

GRANGEVILLE – Camas Prairie Preschool will hold an open house parent meeting Wednesday, Aug. 30, at 6 p.m., at the preschool on Myrtle Street (across from Lions Park).

This will be a basic orientation, during which the new STEM-based curriculum and other changes to requirements will be covered. There are options now with regards to in-class volunteering (no longer required, but parents can if they wish) and to fund-raising (also no longer required, with other options).

Opera House to hold final public meeting for all interested parties

KOOSKIA — The Save the old Opera House Board of Directors will be hosting a public meeting at the IOOF building in Kooskia Thursday, Aug. 24, 6:30 p.m. The purpose of the meeting is to bring shareholders and interested parties up-to-date on efforts to buy the Old Opera House.

The board has personally visited with hundreds of people and businesses, run multiple radio ads and newspaper ads and held many special events to raise the funds needed to buy the Old Opera House. As of today, they do not have what they need to purchase the Old Opera house building and time is running out. If the balance is not raised by Sept. 1, they will be forced to step aside and let the Graves sell the building to the next buyer.

Catholic evangelist to speak in Cottonwood Sept. 11-14

COTTONWOOD –Richard Lane, EWTN personality and internationally renowned Catholic evangelist will speak Monday through Thursday, Sept. 11-14, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Cottonwood. Each night begins at 7 p.m.

The event is entitled “From Dust to Glory” and chronicles the journey from the dust of beginning through the desert struggle and to heavenly glory.
