Pioneer Senior Citizens

Hilda Nuttman opened the August 15 meeting of the Pioneer Senior Citizens with the Pledge of Allegiance and Dolores VonBargen gave the dinner prayer.

There were no guests this week.

There were 54 meals served and 27 takeouts.

Mary Purdy won the free dinner.

Dolores VonBargen won the nickel Bingo pot while Judy Arledge won the blackout.

Door prize winners were Gen Broker, Elaine Schumacher, Joanne Sonnen, Hilda Nuttman, Andy Riener and Loycie Sonnen..

Seniors wanting to go to Lewiston to shop or to doctor’s appointments and don’t want to drive, call Coast driver, Katie Manifold, at 208-451-4090.

Come join us for a meal every Tuesday for a small donation at the Pioneer Senior Center in the Cottonwood Community Hall basement. Meals are served at 12 noon.

Hot Roast Beef Sandwich, Peas & Carrots, Fresh Salad, Fruit Cocktail.

Grangeville Senior Citizens

Stanley Modrell opened the August 14 meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and Barbara Essen offered the prayer. The free dinner drawing was won by Sheri Newby. There were 68 meals served at the site and 34 hot meals delivered. There were no guests this week.

Pinochle Winners: 1st Stanley Modrell with 4,510 and 2nd Nancy Winkler with 4,270.

Stanley Modrell opened the August 18 meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and Shirley Crane offered the prayer. Karla Hill won the free dinner drawing. There were 98 meals served and 38 hot and 38 frozen meals home delivered. There were no guests this week.

Pinochle Winners: 1st Barbara Henderson with 4,620 and 2nd Mary Purdy with 3,840.

Menu for August 25th: Roast Beef, Mashed Potatoes & Gravy, California Blend Veggies, Sliced Tomatoes, Peaches and Vanilla Pudding.

Menu for August 28th: Meat Loaf, Mashed Potatoes & Gravy, Green Beans, Carrot Raisin Salad and Peaches.
