— This past Friday, Aug. 25, three local 4-H’ers made a trip to the Western State Fair.

Alleyna Edmondson, Aidan Acton and Molly VanSteenwyk showed the yearling mustang, Juniper, at the Western Idaho Fair in Boise, and won the 4-H Mustang Challenge. This consisted of extreme trail obstacles.

On Sunday, Juniper was auctioned to the highest bid of any horse sold at the Western Idaho Fair for 4-H. The three young adults, along with leaders Stacy VanSteenwyk and Suzanne Acton, trained the mustang since June.

This is the second year members of the Lively Livestock 4-H Club horse group have trained a mustang.
