Forests’ destruction will affect everything

Letters to the Editor

Unfortunately, I have only a high school education, and apparently, I have missed something on forest management, but my education and my common sense tells me that the U.S.F.S. are knowingly and systematically destroying our forest, which in turn will lead to the destruction of our economy, our way of life, our water, our atmosphere, our history, which will lead to accelerated global warming, which is very real. Why are they doing this, just to prove they can do it, or maybe for money, or both?

The terrible part is that there is nothing that the common ordinary working citizen can do. The only people who can stop this are our federal elected officials, who are financially secure for life, and all they care about is the people who are too lazy to work, but can get welfare and other free government programs; as long as the officials take care of them they get their votes and it makes the officials’ jobs more secure. The only time they want to talk to the common worker is election year, and they tell us the deplorable shape our country is in, but they are one man — what can they do — but they will try to straighten it out, if elected. This is a national problem, and if something is not done the United States as we know it is history.

Now if the people getting these free handouts had to work for them, it would help solve the employment problem by creating jobs and lower the national debt.

They need to get out and look at the terrible shape the forests are in and not strictly what the U.S.F.S. wants them to see.

Because without out natural resources we will be extinct.
