Grangeville Senior Citizens

Stanley Modrell opened the Aug. 21st meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and Alice Rickman offered the prayer. Raymond Alford was the winner of the free dinner drawing. There were 37 meals home-delivered. There were no guests this day. Pinochle Winners: 1st, Dolores Kindall with 4,870; 2nd, Barbara Henderson with 3,910.

Alta Clark opened the Aug. 25 meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and the prayer was given by Barbara Essen. Dick Hooper won the free dinner drawing. There were 111 meals served at the site and 41 hot and 67 frozen home-delivered meals. Evan Winter and Karla Hill were guests this day. Pinochle Winners: 1st, Barbara Henderson with 4,780 and 2nd, Anita Smith with 4,460.

Menu for Sept. 1: Happy Birthday Meal. Baked Fish Fillet w/Tartar Sauce, Potato Wedge, Sliced Tomatoes, Broccoli/Cauliflower, Peaches and Apple Cake. Sept. 4 is Labor Day, no meal.

Pioneer Senior Citizens

Agnes Forsman opened the August 22 meeting of the Pioneer Senior Citizens with the Pledge of Allegiance and Elred Nuxoll gave the dinner prayer.

Guests were Linda Kaschmitter and Janice Sweet.

There were 57 meals served, 22 takeouts and 10 frozen dinners.

Isabel Kaschmitter won the free dinner.

Connie Anderson shared a joke with the group.

Eileen Hazelbaker and Vera Holthaus shared the nickel Bingo pot while Isabel Kaschmitter won the blackout.

Door prizewinners were Agnes Forsman, Hilda Nuttman, Mariel Arnzen, Janice Sweet, Dolores Kindall and Eddie Anderson.

Seniors wanting to go to Lewiston to shop or to doctor’s appointments and don’t want to drive, call Coast driver, Katie Manifold, at 208-451-4090.

Come join us for a meal every Tuesday for a small donation at the Pioneer Senior Center in the Cottonwood Community Hall basement. Meals are served at 12 noon.

Menu for September 5: Pork Roast, Rice, Creamy Coleslaw, Asparagus, Cantaloupe, Fudgesicle.
