Three hurt in Sunday crash on US95

Citation pending for inattentive driving

— Three people were transported to St. Mary’s Hospital for medical evaluation following a Sunday afternoon rear-end crash on U.S. Highway 95.

Taken by St. Mary’s Ambulance with possible injuries were Serena M. Bame, 47, of Hayden; June A. Cochran, 66, and her passenger, Michell N. Patrick, 67, both of Fernwood. All involved were wearing seat belts.

The crash was reported at 12:26 p.m. at the intersection U.S. 95 and Cottonwood Butte Road, according to an Idaho County Sheriff’s Office report. Bame was driving a 2004 Subaru Legacy northbound, stopped in traffic with her left turn signal on awaiting traffic to pass so she could turn onto Cottonwood Butte Road. Cochran was driving a 1991 Subaru Loyale, also northbound, and did not notice Bame’s vehicle in the roadway until it was too late to avoid a collision.

A citation is pending against Cochran for inattentive driving. Long’s Towing provided wrecker services for both vehicles.
