GRANGEVILLE Cause is under investigation for a late-night fire, Tuesday, Aug. 29, that gutted a North B Street residence in Grangeville.
Initially called in around 11 p.m. as a backyard fire within the 300 block, the incident was shortly revealed as a fully involved structure fire that had also involved a backyard shed and touched off a camp trailer parked in the driveway. Occupants were able to exit the home without injury.
One firefighter was evaluated by EMTs after being accidentally struck during operations with a hose coupling but did not require treatment.
Multiple engines responded from the Grangeville Volunteer Fire Department, along with Syringa Ambulance, Grangeville Police, Idaho County Sheriff’s Office and Avista.
Fire crews were able to bring the blaze under control within an hour.
