KOOSKIA After the Clearwater Valley boys took a 6-5 lead in the first quarter Monday night, Dec. 4, they went on to beat Nezperce, 44-25, for their second win in as many games this season.
Having topped Genesee 40-34 on the road earlier in the week, the Rams took a 10-5 lead against Nezperce on a fast break layup by Laban Francis, who finished with a team-high 21 points. The CV lead reached eight, 15-7, on a jumper by Evan Jackson early in the second quarter. Nezperce matched the Rams' scoring during the late second quarter, but CV opened up a 21-point lead going into the fourth quarter. Late in the third quarter, Francis canned an end-of-clock three-pointer from the left wing side.
Nezperce outscored the Rams 4-2 during the final period, as CV slowed the tempo and protected the big lead.
Tyler Pressley, who scored 10, also notched double-digits for CV.
Up next, Clearwater Valley is scheduled to host Lapwai for boys and girls games Tuesday night, Dec. 6.
