Encouragers to host Christmas party Thursday, Dec. 7

GRANGEVILLE — All are invited to Encouragers Christmas party Thursday, Dec. 7, at 11:30 a.m.. The no-host luncheon at Pizza Factory, 126 W. Main, in Grangeville, will feature Christmas music by Sue Johnson, Pat Hunter, Sherry Kinnick, and Carol Schmidt, and a Christmas reading by Debbie Ewing. Ima Wikoff will lead group carols with her accordion, with others playing guitar and keyboard.

A white elephant gift exchange follows the music. Those attending are encouraged to bring food for the local food bank.

Grangeville Nazarene church sets Christmas activities

GRANGEVLLE –Grangeville Church of the Nazarene, located at 515 WN 2nd Street, has a variety of upcoming Christmas events. These include the following:

•Christmas musical celebration, Sunday, Dec. 10, 6 p.m.

•Cornerstone Christian Learning Center will host its Christmas program Thursday, Dec. 14, 6:30 p.m.

•Breakfast with Santa, Saturday, Dec. 16, 10 a.m. to noon. Bring your camera and stop in for a free breakfast and visit with Santa.

•Teen Christmas party is set for Saturday, Dec. 16, 6 p.m. Stop in for a hot cocoa bar and movie. Call 208-451-5727 for details.

•Christmas Eve services are set for Sunday, Dec. 24, at both 9 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Prayer time set for Saturday, Dec. 9

GRANGEVILLE – The community is invited to gather for prayer with brothers and sisters in Christ at the Soltman Center (across Main Street from the hospital) in Grangeville at 9 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 9. Also, those who would like to share and discuss ideas for the observance of the National Day of Prayer in May, the group will meet for that purpose at 8 a.m.

Faith Lutheran sets activities

KAMIAH — Faith Lutheran Church, located at 6th and Idaho Streets in Kamiah, has weekly worship Sundays at 11 a.m.

Each Sunday in December there will be Advent services with lighting an Advent candle. Candlelight Christmas Eve service with Holy Communion is at 5 p.m., at the church Sunday, Dec. 24.

Bible studies continue on Thursdays every week. Men meet at the bakery at 7 a.m., and women meet at 10 a.m., at the church. Call Pastor Gail Hart, 208-790-4515.

Hope Center offers classes for teens, young adults

GRANGEVILLE — Are you a teen or adult who is going to be buying a used car or renting an apartment soon? Do you feel that you need some information on what to look for, what questions to ask, what to avoid? Would you like to have your high school teenager learn more about these subjects? Hope Center, located next door to the Crema Café at 111 N. College St. in Grangeville, offers classes in these subjects. The classes can be taken one-on-one or in a small group of friends that you bring in, and they can be taken anytime. All of the classes are free, and when completed, participants can earn Mammoth Bucks to spend around town or Crema Café coffee certificates. Call Hope Center to make an appointment: 208-983-0093. Hope Center is open Mondays 1-5 p.m., Wednesdays and Fridays 1-4 p.m.
