— Avista has selected Matthew Casey as the new district manager for the Grangeville operating district where he will oversee all electric operations on behalf of Avista.

“We are very excited to have Matthew join our team. His familiarity with the Grangeville area, strong work ethic and leadership skills will greatly benefit Avista and its customers,” said David Howell, Avista’s director of operations.

Casey graduated from Kamiah High School in 2001 and served in the U.S. Marine Corps Infantry deploying to Iraq twice. Following his service, he worked for the Veterans Affairs Office in Chico, Calif. He received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from California State University, Chico, in 2013. In 2015, he entered the utility industry as a construction supervisor for Pacific Gas & Electric out of Northern California. He is married with one child and will be a Grangeville resident.

“I’m very excited about this opportunity to come back to northern Idaho and look forward to working with the surrounding communities,” said Casey.
