Medicaid for Idaho in Grangeville Wednesday for expansion petition effort

— Medicaid for Idaho will be in Grangeville at the Soltman Center this Wednesday, Dec. 20, at 1 p.m. with petitions to expand Medicaid for low income Idahoans. Medicaid for Idaho is working to put Medicaid Expansion on the ballot in November, 2018.

According to advocates, this initiative would benefit the 78,000 people in Idaho that lack access to affordable health care and have fallen into the 'Medicaid Gap’ — those who earn too much money to qualify for Medicaid but not enough to afford insurance on the state health care exchange.

Petition signatures from 6 percent of registered voters in Idaho are needed to get Medicaid Expansion on the ballot. After some brief introductions and instructions, volunteers will be canvassing designated streets, door to door, for a couple of hours to collect signatures.
