Mark your calendars! Several event dates have been set for the coming year:

The 41st Annual Crab Feed is set for the American Legion Hall in Kamiah for Jan. 25, 26 and 27. 2018’s theme is Land of the Lost and the Kingpins will play Friday and Saturday nights. Thursday cost is $30 for adults and Friday and Saturday will be $35. Call 208-935-0200 for tickets.

Syringa Hospital Foundation Gala (formerly known as Festival of Trees) is set for Saturday, Feb. 24, at The Gym Event Center in Grangeville, featuring music by The Hitmen.

Then, Sts. Peter and Paul’s Chocolate Fantasy is set for March 17.

Winter won’t be dull with all these upcoming activities.

Grangeville Lions Christmas trees are half price while they last! Get them at Green Acres Nursery or Cash and Carry Marketplace, both in Grangeville.

Last week I wrote that 4 Weeks of Christmas Week Three Winner Lynn Cook is from Slate Creek. She and her family are actually from Deer Creek!

Remember, you can have your holiday party at Pizza Factory in Grangeville. Just call to reserve: 208-983-5555.

A student at Cascade Christian School in Puyallup, Wash., recently wrote a request letter. “It reads: I am writing a report on the state of Idaho. We are responsible for gathering as much information as we can about your state. If your readers would like to help me by sending any pictures, postcards, used license plates, facts, products, etc., from your state, it would be greatly appreciated.” Send items to fifth grader Leah B. at Cascade Christian School, 601 9th Ave SE, Puyallup, WA 98372.

I’ve been to a lot of local businesses these past few weeks, and I hope you have, too. I have purchased a number of gift certificates and cards as well as some great stocking stuffers and prize gifts. Really, there are some unique items to choose from in our small area.

Merry Christmas to all! Enjoy your time with family and friends.
