Grangeville Senior Citizens

Roy Powell opened the meeting of Dec. 11 with the Pledge of Allegiance and Barbara Essen offered the prayer. The free dinner drawing was won by Mike Countryman. There were 75 meals served at the center and 38 meals home delivered. There were no guests this day and no pinochle games. We want to thank Syringa Hospital for hosting a wonderful ham dinner on Dec. 8th.

Stanley Modrell opened the meeting of Dec. 15 with the Pledge of Allegiance and Pastor Tom Helmick gave the prayer. The free dinner drawing was won by Ted Lindsley. 87 meals were served at the center and 34 hot and 70 frozen meals were home delivered. There were no guests this day. Pinochle Winners: 1st, Carol Martin with 4,880 and 2nd, Gary Crea with 3,780. We celebrated Bernie Golz’s 97th birthday.

Menu for Dec. 22: Roast Beef, Mashed Potatoes & Gravy, 3-Bean Salad, Fruit and Roll.

There will be no meal served on Christmas Day. Merry Christmas to All!

GHS Senior Fun Night class of 2018

Grangeville High School class of 2018 seniors are currently selling the calendar raffle tickets and $1 candy bars. To be connected with a senior or senior parent, call secretary Lorie Palmer at 208-983-8286 or e-mail lpalmer@idahocountyfreepress.com.

Pioneer Senior Citizens

Agnes Forsman opened the Dec. 12 meeting of the Pioneer Senior Citizens with the Pledge of Allegiance and also led the dinner prayer.

There were no guests this week.

There were 57 meals served with 25 takeouts and 6 frozen dinners.

Ivan Nuxoll won the free meal.

Eleanor Hinkelman won the nickel Bingo pot and Vern Uhlorn and Donna Barnett split the blackout.

Door prizes were won by Theresa Funke, Peg Uhlorn, Theresa Sonnen, Sally Duman, Ned Forsmann and Hilda Nuttman.

Seniors wanting to go to Lewiston to shop or to doctor’s appointments and don’t want to drive, call Coast driver Katie Manifold, 509-397-2935.

Come join us for a meal every Tuesday for a small donation at the Pioneer Senior Center in the Cottonwood Community Hall basement. Meals are served at 12 noon.

No meal Dec. 26—Merry Christmas
