Prairie-River Library District sets activities

•Kooskia Community Library will host its next Lego Night on Saturday, Dec. 1 from 1-5 p.m. All ages are invited to come in and build kits or designs from imagination. This family-friendly activity is made possible with the Lego kit donations from Airbridge Broadband. See photos from their past Lego Nights on their Facebook page. Kooskia’s branch will be closed Monday, Jan. 15 in addition to all PRLD branches being closed Monday, Jan. 1. Details can be found at prld.org/calendar.

•Nezperce Community Library’s book club will meet on Jan. 2 at 7 p.m. to discuss the historical fiction novel Mr. Churchill’s Secretary by Susan Elia MacNeal. Meet in the community room at the back of the library to talk about your thoughts on this book and find out what the next month’s selection will be. Call 208-937-2458 for more info.

•Kamiah Community Library’s next writing group meeting will be on Tuesday, Jan. 9 at 3 p.m. For the second meeting we will hear volunteers read pieces of their personal writing. All are welcome to join at any time, no experience is needed. Recaps of meetings will be posted at www.prld.org/writing-group for those who can’t attend in person each time. Call 208-935-0428 for more info.

•Both the Kamiah and Kooskia branch of PRLD have established Laundromat Library Leagues (LLL) at public laundromats in their respective towns. At the Kamiah Wash House on Main Street owned by the Kays, you can take a free book for yourself or your child to read while waiting on laundry. At Kooskia, the Jennings family has allowed a LLL at their laundromat on Main Street as well. The books do not need to be returned, but we ask that you share them at other laundromats when possible. Donations of gently used or like-new books to stock the locations would be greatly appreciated at either branch. Contact Kamiah at 208-935-0428 or Kooskia at 208-926-4539.
