ELK CITY — I wanted to extend a special thank you to the Lindsley family of Lindsley’s furniture in Grangeville from the community of Elk City for their generous donation of outdoor carpeting for the handicap ramp leading into our medical clinic. As many of you know, and some may not know, the Elk City Area Alliance holds in trust for this unincorporated community several properties, one of which is the Medical Clinic. We have very limited funds and rely on volunteers to do most of the work needing to be done in relationship to these properties. Thanks to Debbie Taylor for taking on this project and thanks to the Lindsley family for their caring and concern.
Don’t forget about the Water & Sewer Association public meeting from 6:30 to 7 p.m., at the Forest Service followed by the annual meeting. Remember, that any changes that may be presented such as becoming a Water & Sewer District can affect more than just the current users to the system. Inform yourself and attend the public meeting.
On Thursday, Feb. 2, the Elk City Volunteer Fire Department will have its annual meeting at 7 p.m., at the Forest Service Conference Room. There is one board position that is open and will be voted on that evening. Remember that all board members must be a member of the ECVFD and willing to hold that position.
VFW Auxiliary wanted me to remind you also about the Valentine Steak Dinner on Feb. 11, from 5 to 7 p.m. They added that there would be karaoke following the meal. Call in your reservations to Cocoa at 842-2466.
Dr. Secrest will be at the Elk City Medical Clinic on Feb. 17. Call St. Mary’s Clinic at 962-3267.
