Early literacy workshop offered to childcare providers; Class set for March 13

— Childcare providers can earn three IdahoSTARS credits at no cost by attending the early literacy workshop offered by Prairie-River Library District and the Idaho Commission for Libraries March 13 from 8:30-11:30 a.m. in Nezperce. The workshop will focus on the importance of reading to children, laying a foundation for getting children ready to read and how to use free resources found in the local library. The skills developed are appropriate for use with children ages 2 years through kindergarten.

A free literacy kit containing books and materials will be provided for each classroom in order to build on-site support the teaching of early literacy skills. The workshop is three hours with a short break and refreshments will be provided. Seats are limited.
