— Sue Philips would like everyone to be apprised of the following: “The Elk City Community Library would like to thank the Elk City General Store, Jessica and Damien, and their staff, for being a drop-off and pick-up site for library books. The Elk City Community Library is only open one day a week and sometimes it’s impossible for patrons to get in to pick up or drop off books. The store has been a secondary spot for book pickup/drop-off for some time; and Friends of the Library and community members really appreciate this service. And now we thank Jim Borowicz for making us a wooden box, making this service even better for our patrons. The box is well-labeled and is located in the General Store. If you have books to return to the library and can’t make it in on Wednesday, please drop them off at the store and notify a librarian, Sue Phillips, Cynthia Henry or Abbie Marabetta. We will pick up the books and take them to the library on Wednesdays. And also, if you have materials, books, DVDs, etc. coming in from ValNet or need something from the Elk City Library, the librarian will check it out to you, notify you that’s it has come in, and if you can’t make it to the library on Wednesday, we’ll drop it off in the box at the store. This greatly extends the library’s service to the community. Just a reminder, DVDs are usually only loaned for a week at a time...quick turnaround time. Thank you again to everyone helping our community library!”
